Two years into the project, with the help of our dedicated team of volunteers, over 500 trees considered to be notable, ancient and or veteran have been recorded. This year, the tree survey will continue across more of the forest and in other parts of the Hundreds of St. Briavels, but in a slightly different format.
This drop in session at Yorley Village Hall is for local people, with their own knowledge of the area, to call in to learn about the project and about the importance of ancient and notable trees, and tell us of trees that should be included in our survey. These sessions are also an opportunity for existing ANTS volunteers to come along to refresh their knowledge of ancient trees in a warm, dry place over cup of tea / coffee.
