Guided Geology Walk - Tidenham Chase
A walk introducing the geology of the area and its effect on the landscape, flora and fauna, and local human development.
A 2km Geology Walk led by local Geologist Dave Green. The walk will take approximately 3 hours and involves no climbing or stiles.
Highlights include: almost flat-lying Carboniferous sandstone and limestone, exposed in numerous old quarries, and producing soils of such different thickness and acidity that their boundaries are marked by obvious changes in vegetation. There are excellent views south to the Severn estuary. There is a possible 2 or 3km extension to take in the Devil’s Pulpit and Offa’s Dyke along the crest of the eastern side of the Wye Valley.
