Wyldwood Arts are recruiting volunteers to help with our Community Celebration Banner Project.
Across the summer Wyldwood have worked with Foresters’ Forest groups & Artspace Cinderford to create fabric banners which will be displayed at public parades in the autumn.
We’re also hosting 4 drop-in artist led making days in August for members of the public to design and create a fabric square using fabric pens and stick-on bits which will be compiled together into 4 community celebration banners to add to the parades.
In addition to this, we’re providing support and micro-grants to existing local groups, clubs and associations to make their own banners to bring along as well as encouraging any groups who already have a banner to get involved.
Project information can be found at www.wyldwoodarts.co.uk/ourprojects/banners
We’re looking for volunteers to help in a number of ways
• Community Advocates - Are you part of a group who could get involved in making a banner or who has a banner? We need people to help spread the word in our communities.
• Workshop Assisting – Can you spare a few hours to help at our drop-in workshops? We’re looking for people who can help explain the activity to participants, spark ideas and gently guide the creative process. We will still be operating Covid safety measures during these sessions.
• Help with banner assembly – Could you help with the assembly of the 4 community banners from the workshops? We’ll be putting them together in September and could do with some extra hands.
• Parade Marshalls – Do you fancy donning a hi-vis jacket and helping us manage spectators and stopping traffic during our parades in Cinderford & Bream?
