The Walking with Wheels project, provides off-road mobility scooters, called Trampers, to enable more people to access the Forest of Dean. Trampers can be hired for £2.50 an hour from Pedalabikeaway (Cannop Cycle Centre) and Forest Holidays (Bracelands). Current volunteers on the project accompany users on the trails or support with administration and promotion.
We will shortly be arranging a meet-up for volunteers who have previously expressed an interest in Walking with Wheels but have yet to be actively involved, as well as new volunteers. We are looking for volunteers to help with the hiring and induction training of new Tramper users at Cannop, as well as anyone who would like to help with promoting the service throughout the area (including distributing leaflets and talking to potential user groups). To get involved, please contact Vicky Morgan by email or 01594 822073.
