Hands-on Forest Newts

Sunday 24th March 2019
10:00

Join Project Leader David Dewsbury to get up close to some of our local Newts.  Newt traps will be deployed on Saturday afternoon (23rd March) at 3pm and then re-visited on Sunday morning (10am) to count the newts and see which species are present in each pond.

Volunteers can come along to help deploy traps, but it is also perfectly fine to just come on Sunday for the exciting bit where the traps are opened. Expect to see all three species of British newt.

The group will either walk around to look at the traps or drive in a few vehicles depending on numbers. Location will be in the general area of Awre’s Glow, Lightmoor and Staple Edge.

To book, please contact David Dewsbury by email preferably at david.dewsbury@btinternet.com or by phone 07786 543961 / 01594 832068.

Reptiles is one of 38 Heritage Lottery Funded community projects in the Foresters' Forest programme.
