Tree Maintenance for Ancient and Notable Trees

During 2020 the Ancient and Notable Trees project is moving into a new phase with a series of Tree Maintenance and ‘Haloing’ working days to help protect various important trees that have been identified in the Forest of Dean. Details below. If you would like to attend please book a place by contacting forestersforest@fvaf.org.uk

Dates: Saturday 15th

Location: Edge End (meet at the picnic site)

Times: 10am – 3pm

Please bring:  A packed lunch and refreshments,  a camping chair if you have one, a small  21 inch bow saw or silky saw if you have one. Please dress in warm / waterproof outdoor clothing and sturdy shoes.

Nearest toilet: at Cannop Cycle Centre 1.5 miles away (we will provide parking passes)

Other details:  The days will begin with a short overview and refresher about ancient and notable trees.  How to identify ancient and notable trees and decide if and what management they need. No dogs please.

We are limiting numbers to 10 people for each day so please let me know as soon as possible if you have any questions or would like to book for one or both of the sessions.
