The story of the bears is one of the most well-known Forest of Dean folktales, inspiring poems, books and film.
The Reading the Forest project will be celebrating 130 years of bear stories with an exhibition at Ruardean Memorial Hall (GL17 9UP) from 12:00 noon, with talks and discussion from 2pm.
Test your knowledge beforehand at the 'unbearable' pub quiz at the Malt Shovel (GL17 9TW) on Friday 26th April, 8pm.
