The many volunteers who give their time to the Foresters' Forest Programme are much appreciated and we like to take the time to than them for all they do.
Our next Volunteer Thank You Event will be held at Hopewell Colliery. Enjoy a free Mine tour, other activities, entertainment and complimentary refreshments. Tea and Cake will be served on arrival and hot rolls at 5pm. Learn about some of our Foresters’ Forest projects and maybe have a go!
Have you got your ticket yet? Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you haven't yet received your invitation.
Tour places are limited and must be pre-booked and on a first come first sever basis.
Please note the tour is not suitable for those with limited mobility, babies or toddlers. Please wear suitable sturdy shoes and bring a warm jacket as the mine can be cool. If we have had a lot of rain prior to the event all tours will be cancelled as the mine floods.
Please note the parking is NOT at the main Hopewell Carpark, but on a Forest Track near the site, please look out for the signposts and use the correct parking area. Due to the narrow track and ditches a one-way system will be in operation as the track is not wide enough to turn in while other cars are parked. After the event you will carry on down the track and come out onto the main road a little further down.
Disabled parking is as normal near to the cafe but is limited.
You might be surprised what you find!
