Veteran Tree History Survey Day

Saturday 8th June 2019
10:00

Join our Veteran Tree History project on a survey day recording and mapping Veteran Trees. Training in Veteran Tree identification and how to read the history of the landscape will be given.

The woodlands, forests and hedgerows of the Forest hold many precious records of their history and heritage.  The Veteran Trees of the Forest are an important part of this reading the landscape. If you have an interest in history, landscape, archaeology and enjoy being outdoors in the beautiful forest, then this could be an enjoyable day.

We need volunteers to take part in surveying the trees. The project survey days will take place once a month on Saturdays. Survey dates for 2019 are 2nd February, 2nd March, 6th April, 11th May and 1st June. Meeting point at The Speech House Arboretum car park.

Spaces are limited so booking is essential. To find out more or book a place please contact Volunteer Coordinator Deb Cook forestersforest@fvaf.org.uk

This volunteer opportunity is part of the Veteran Trees History project, one of 38 Heritage Lottery Funded community projects in the Foresters' Forest programme. Veteran Tree History is led by Andrew Hoaen.
