Volunteer Stock Checkers Needed

Our Conservation Grazing project with Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust in the Forest of Dean have a flock of Hebridean sheep and 10 Exmoor ponies which graze local nature reserves. They will shortly be joined by 6 Highland cattle.

With more animals, we need to increase the number of voluntary stock checkers and will be running a training session soon. Stock checkers are free to check the livestock whenever they wish at which ever site or sites suits them best. There are no rotas or fixed duties just a request to check when you can and let us know what you find.

If you are interested, please contact forestersforest@fvaf.org.uk . Read about the experiences of one of our Volunteer Stock Checkers here.
