Coleford Area Walking Festival

Saturday 11th May, 2019 ~ Sunday 19th May, 2019

The Coleford area is surrounded by the natural beauty of the Forest of Dean. Take a closer look with the Coleford Area Walking Festival, and you'll soon discover the tangle of fascinating links between our natural, built and cultural heritage.

We've developed two free apps that bring our heritage to life with fading then and now images, so you may like to download them before the festival. You'll get an automatic alert when you reach a point of historic interest on your walk.

We'll be leading two walks, the Hidden Heritage of the Dean on 11th May and Coleford's Hidden Heritage on the 12th May using the apps.

From freemining to ancient trees, there will also be opportunities to learn about other Foresters' Forest projects throughout the festival, how we're working together to promote and preserve our special area, and how you can get involved too.
