Coleford's Hidden Heritage app route is about 7 mile long, taking in 31 points of interest. The app uses fading 'Then and Now' images to enable both local residents and visitors to discover Coleford's rich history. The route includes Darkhill Ironworks and Titanic Steelworks both of which are critical to the story of the evolving iron and steel industry, such that Coleford can be described as 'the birthplace of modern steel'.
This is the second in the series of Hidden Heritage apps following the creation of the very successful 'Hidden Heritage of the Dean' app. This follows a 9 mile route around the Forestry Commission's Family Cycle Trail.
